Relax and Restore Class - The Immune System - Sunday 7 July 9.30-11.00am

Most of us are not great at self care.   In our busy lives self care is not a luxury, it's ESSENTIAL!  Research shows that we cannot perform at our best when we are tired and stressed.  A well structured restorative sequence can reset your nervous system and change your perspective completely.

Please join me for the final Relax and Restore class of term 2 on Sunday at 9.30am.  We will sit quietly for 10mins to create a space and steadiness conducive to learning.  We will then move to a sequence for the immune system.  This sequence is deeply relaxing and will help to keep away flus and colds.   This is a handy sequence for all yoga practitioners and I encourage you to come along.  The class is suitable for all levels and the cost is $23, unless you have paid for the 5 sessions at the start of term.

See you Sunday, Namaste

Term 3 Enrolments now Open

Next week is our last week of term.  I wish to thank all our students who have persevered through the winter so far to attend their weekly classes.  This weekly commitment will keep the colds and flus away and support your immune system.  A regular practice of yoga keeps us balanced physically, mentally and emotionally. I am sure you have noticed a difference from when you enter The Yoga Room at the beginning of the class, to when you walk out the door.  The world is still crazy busy, but somehow it's a little easier to step back and see it clearly, rather than getting drawn into the drama of it.

Enrolments are open for Term 3 which runs from Monday 22 July to Saturday 28 September.  Booking on line is simple.  Follow this link and select your classes https://orangeyogaroom.com.au.  If you need any information about which class to enrol in, please consult your teacher or contact me.

As a way of saying thank you to our students, I am offering free Led practice in term 3 for any students who enrole in two classes per week.  My hope is that this offer gives you the incentive to renew your commitment to your yoga and to progress steadily and methodically through term 3.  If you enrol for two classes, please don't select Led Practice, or you will have to pay for it at the checkout!  Instead, select your two classes and email me to advise you are coming to Led Practice.  You will put a big smile on my face!

The holiday timetable will be available in the next few days.

Women's Series Workshops - Yoga for a Woman's Cycle Sat 29 June 1.00-4.00pm

A yoga practice is not a ‘one size fits all’  approach. As practitioners we need to adjust our yoga practice to support ourselves during times when the body, mind and emotions are moving through transitions.  Practising asanas that stabilise before menstruation, poses to restore during menstruation and poses to rebalance your system post menstruation, will support a healthy cycle before.  The workshop provides essential knowledge for all female yoga practitioners to honour their cycle.  It is especially relevant for those preparing for pregnancy or with issues around menstruation. The workshop will look at the asanas to set up a healthy regular cycle, asanas for symptoms like PMS, dizziness and lower back pain.

Cost for workshops:   $40 which includes notes and sequences.

Bookings essential.  Place your name on the list at The Yoga  Room or contact me

Free Class International Yoga Day and dinner at Scrumptious 6pm Friday 21 June

Join us at The Yoga Room this Friday 21 June for a free class to celebrate International Yoga Day and the Winter Solstice.  This is an opportunity for us to say thank you for your commitment to our school through your attendance in class each week.  The class is free but places are limited.  Please confirm your place by 11.00am on Thursday 20 June by adding or removing your name from the list at The Yoga Room.

I have booked a table at Scrumptious downstairs for 7.15pm for anyone wishing to get together and share a meal after the class.  Confirm your place by 11.00am Thursday 20 June.  Everyone is welcome.

Led Practice this Saturday 8 June

Led Practice is an opportunity to come together as a group and practice.  Led Practice is held each Saturday from 7.00am-8.30am.  Please come along and join us as we work through a sequence this Saturday.  It's a great way to start your long weekend and to learn to adjust your own practice to your individual capacity, with the support of the group.  All students are welcome to attend and I encourage you to come along and find out how simple Led Practice is.

Sunday Relax and Restore Yoga Class - next class 9.30am 16 June

Life is busy and we are generally overloaded with information, jobs to be completed, and stress.

Make space in your life for a few hours of restoring and re-energising before the start of a new week.  All levels are welcome.

This class runs on the first and third Sunday of each month.

International Yoga Day - Free Class

We love our yoga studio and our practice.  It gives us a comforting, and sometimes lifesaving, dimension to our lives.  To thank our yoga community and to celebrate International Yoga Day, we are holding a free class from 6.00-7.00pm on Friday 21 June.

It is always lovely to have a catch up with fellow students and teachers, and anyone who is interested in having a meal after the class is very welcome.  I have booked Scrumptious for a 7.15pm dinner afterwards.  Bookings for both the class and dinner are essential.

Workshops for 2019

Workshops are a great way to increase your knowledge of the practice of yoga and to take time out to immerse yourself into your practice more deeply.  A longer format often allows us time to experience and see things about yoga and ourselves, that we can't access in a class format.  Please consider coming to any of the following.

What's on this Week

Term 2 started this week

If you haven't enrolled or couldn't get to class this week, don't stress.  Start next week.  We allow students to 'make up' three missed classes during the current term.  Attend a class of the same level, if possible.

Sunday 5 May - 9.30-11.00am - Relax and Restore Class

This class on the first and third Sunday of each month will focus on restorative yoga, pranayama and relaxation.  Casual attendance $23.  All levels welcome.

2.00-4.00pm Essential Oils Workshop - Emotional Health

The workshop on Sunday is around oils for emotional health.  Come along and learn which oil is useful for emotions such as forgiveness, courage and procrastination.  A small charge will be made if you choose to participate in the practical session using the Feelings Kit which encourages the process of letting go of old patterns and emotions, forgiving those who have hurt you and going forward.  Everyone welcome.  If you have any questions, bring them along.
