Women's Series Workshops - Yoga for a Woman's Cycle - Saturday 1 December 2.00pm-5.00pm

A yoga practice is not a ‘one size fits all’  approach. As practitioners we need to adjust our yoga practice to support ourselves during times when the body, mind and emotions are moving through transitions.  This workshop provides knowledge around menstruation when the body is energetically different.  Taking time to learn and accommodate the body’s responses throughout the cycle is an essential part of every woman’s practice.

Practising asanas that stabilise before menstruation, poses to restore during menstruation and poses to rebalance your system post menstruation, will support a healthy cycle before.  This workshop provides essential knowledge for all female yoga practitioners to honour their cycle.  It is especially relevant for those preparing for pregnancy or with issues around menstruation. The workshop will look at the asanas to set up a healthy regular cycle, asanas for symptoms like PMS, dizziness and lower back pain.

Cost for workshops:   $40

Bookings essential.

Another year of Yoga - let's celebrate!

Women's Series Workshops - Saturday 10 November

A yoga practice is not a 'one size fits all' approach.  As practitioners we need to adjust our yoga practice to support ourselves during times when the body, mind and emotions are moving through transitions.  The Women's Series Workshops provide knowledge around those times of flux when the body is energetically different.  Taking time to learn and accommodate the body's response to these transitions is an essential part of every woman's practice.

Please join me for these essential workshops for female yoga practitioners.  You are welcome to participate in both or one of the workshops, as well as the talk by Dr Josephine Braid on hormonal health.

Upcoming Workshops - 2nd edition

Whilst classes offer instruction and guidance, Workshops and Intensives offer the opportunity to immerse ourselves more deeply, to observe more acutely and to access the intelligence of the body over a sustained period of time.  Workshops are important to build a knowledge base and have a deeper experience to take into our classes and our own practice.

The Yoga Room is offering the following workshops:

Women's Series Workshops:

Saturday 10 November

10am-1.00pm - Yoga to ease through menopause and beyond

Learn the asanas that give energy when needed or calm the nervous system and adrenals to find balance during this transition.

1.15pm-1.45pm Talk by Dr Jo Braid on hormonal health (open to participants who attend either of these workshops)

2.00pm-5.00pm - Yoga for a Woman's Cycle.

Practising asanas that support a healthy cycle before, during and after menstruation can relieve common symptoms like cramps, lower back pain, dizziness and PMS.  This workshop provides essential knowledge for all female yoga practitioners to honour their cycle and prepare for a healthy transition to menopause.

Cost:  $40 each or $70 for both workshops.

Weekend Workshop with Alan Goode

Thank you to all students who attended our weekend workshop with Alan Goode from Canberra. Alan teaches with 40 years of yoga experience and with a clarity and accessibility that all students benefitted from. It was a really special weekend and I am glad that so many of you could be there to receive Alan's wisdom to take it into your own practice. Special thanks to Alan and his family for coming to Orange, to Aisleen (one of our beginner students) for the beautiful photos and to the students who assisted with packing up after the workshop.

Holiday Timetable and Thank You!

To our wonderful students,

Thank you for another great term and for your perseverance through the winter months to attend class each week to learn more about this amazing practice of yoga.  The discipline to turn up each week no matter what the weather, no matter what is happening in your life, gives rewards in the long term.

There are a few restorative classes in the holidays.  Join me to reset and recharge for Term 4 and the crazy Christmas season, which seems to get longer and longer as I get older!  It is important to take time out for yourself, fill your cup to the top, and be ready to power on with energy and enthusiasm.  Yoga is a great replenisher and I look forward to seeing you in the break.  All students of all levels welcome.

Enjoy your break,
