Back to Yoga Term 1 2018

Happy New Year to all students of The Yoga Room!

2018 is going to be a year of consolidating what we have learnt and taking our yoga to the next level.  Term 1 commences on Monday 5 February, with the exception of both Monday 9.30am and 6.00pm classes who start on 29 February due to the Easter Monday Holiday.  If you haven't yet booked, please do so by paying on line or contacting me to pay a deposit to secure your place.  It is a 10 week term for all students.

We are introducing a philosophy syllabus into the four terms of learning this year.  The philosophy syllabus will run alongside the teaching of poses (Asanas) and Pranayama (breathing techniques).  It will be simple and apply to the practice of yoga.  It will provide a context for the subject of yoga and allow any students who are interested in philosophy to take their interest forward.

On another note, I will run the Intensive from Wednesday 31 Jan to Friday 2 February.  Details to follow.  It will be suitable to all students who have 3months experience of yoga.

Steph, Fiona,  Sharon and myself will see you on the mat in term 1.

Relax and Restore Class Sunday 18 August 9.30am-11.00am

It is so important to take time out of our busy lives to create a space to sit with ourselves and cultivate the practice of stillness and observation.  The Relax and Restore class centres around these concepts.  By practising asanas that quieten the nervous system, we can bring harmony across the physical, mental and emotional sheaths.  The result is a feeling of being grounded yet energised.   Life looks and feels a little lighter when we take the time to practice these asanas.  Join me on Sunday.

Suitable for all students of all levels.

Join me for a relaxing and energising start to your Sunday - 9.30am tomorrow 4 August

Jump out of bed and join me on the mat tomorrow morning to start to your Sunday with some self care.

Running on empty is not beneficial to anyone and it's so important to take time out of our busy lives to create a space to sit with ourselves and cultivate the practice of stillness and observation. See you tomorrow - all students welcome.

Home Practice Workshop Saturday 3 Aug 1.00-4.00pm

Create a habit that serves you

Coming to class is the first step on the yoga journey. Attending Led Practice (Saturdays 7.00-8.30am) is practising yoga with the support of a group and a fellow student or teacher leading the poses. This is another milestone.
When you take the step towards Home Practice - that is a major achievement!  It gives you the tools to create a space to come to when everything is going well, and when the world throws you a curve ball. Creating a regular Home Practice in your life supports the physical body as well as teaching you resilience, tenacity and the ability to stay strong in the face of adversity. It gives you the skills to stay true to yourself when everything around you shifts. The value of learning to create your own Home Practice is immeasurable. It's not rocket science but it does take a little commitment.
Join me tomorrow to learn how simple starting a Home Practice actually is. You will be thankful for the rest of your yoga journey.  Students of all levels welcome.

The days are getting longer - more time for Home Practice!!!!

JOIN ME FOR THE HOME PRACTICE WORKSHOP 1.00-4.00PM SATURDAY 3 AUGUST
